Specialist Debt & Benefits Case Worker

You will be required to have a UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

This is an important part of the Empowering Futures Team and will work closely with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to appropriately support residents and customers with additional requirements to achieve their personal goals and reduce associated risks and costs for MTVH. This role reports to the Specialist Casework Manager and is based in Cambridge and covering the Cambridgeshire Region.

In this role you will provide specialist debt and welfare benefits casework support to MTVH residents, ensuring that services are delivered to the highest standard, are fully accessible, quality assured and delivered in accordance with relevant organisational policies. The applicant will have significant experience of money advice casework in a target driven environment and have a thorough knowledge of welfare benefits and the debt advice process.

This post holder will be responsible for building a relationship of trust, advising and empowering residents experiencing multiple barriers to achieve their personal goals to live well and sustain their tenancies.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will come with extensive knowledge and a track record of delivering one to one support to individuals, dealing with complex debt and benefit issues. They will have the ability to adopt a needs-led approach to develop solution-focused interventions with holistic support assessments and action plans. In addition, they will have experience of working on complex cases in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. The applicant will have experience in caseload management and monitoring. This is a values-driven role and we will be looking for someone with the energy, enthusiasm and passion to make a real difference for MTVH residents and communities.

The successful candidate will put the resident at the centre of the process and empower them to find solutions to enable them to live well.

This is a part time role working 14 hours per week over 2 days. There is not specific set working days for this role, the successful candidate can agree with the manager which days they wish to work from Mon-Friday.

The nature of this role means that the post holder will be involved in regulated activity with vulnerable adults. To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service once an offer employment is made. A newcheck will be completed every three years.
