Job Purpose of the Senior Sales Ledger Assistant

To ensure inbound payments via various methods are accurately processed and reconciled within strict controls and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Sales Ledger Assistant

Coordinating and supporting the Sales Ledger team to complete high volume daily, weekly, and monthly banking and finance procedures
To ensure all incoming receipts are accurately and efficiently processed, allocated and reconciled in the Client system
Processing unpaid cheques, returned payments and transax
Management and organisation of unidentified & unallocated receipts ensuring they are processed, investigated, and resolved as per Client policy and SLA.
Customer statement and payment reconciliations
Ledger entry
Resolving queries from customers, centres, the Client and internal teams. A point of contact for high priority queries or Sales Ledger investigations
Departmental and Client reporting
Assisting with internal and external audits
Review and update departmental policies and procedures where relevant
To carry out any other adhoc duties as requested by line management

Person specification:

Formal Education & Certification

5 GCSEs minimum, including English and Maths

Knowledge & Experience needed for this Senior Sales Ledger Assistant role

Accounting knowledge and experience required
Experience in one/or more of the following: Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, payment processing/allocation
SAP experience desirable
Bank reconciliation experience
Experience in problem solving and query management
Computer literate with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent numerical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Confident in articulating and communicating financial information to a wider audience
Being self-motivated to work in a busy, high volume, fast paced environment
