Principal Analyst or Senior credit/trade finance analyst

Business Area: Energy marketing Risk management, marketing and supply.

ROLE:

The Marketing Midstream & Processing (MMP) business area is responsible for the worldwide marketing and trading of the oil and gas portfolio.

MMP's Risk & Market Compliance department plays a key role in driving performance and value creation though risk assessment and its advisory role. RMC is responsible for risk monitoring, transparent performance measurement, verification of financial exposure, and general management advice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trade Finance department is responsible for ensuring all transactions related to import and export run efficiently across all commodities. The Trade Finance department provides credit risk advice, analysis and support to MMP management and trading departments to make informed decisions aligned with risk appetite and strategy. We are looking for a credit/trade finance analyst whose responsibility will be to:

• Facilitate risk/reward dialogue to ensure a sound and transparent decision-making process around material credit decisions

• Review and negotiate credit clauses in new and existing trading agreements with counterparties (EFET/ISDA)

• Develop and maintain constructive and trusting internal and external stakeholder relationships (trading department, contracts, counterparties, banks, brokers)

• Ensure compliance of mandates, working requirements and operational routines

• Monitor and analyse counterparties and credit exposures and margining to maintain credit limits

• Review and negotiate trade finance related tools such as credit arrangements, guarantees, credit insurance

• Conduct Know Your Counterparty/IDD checks

• Control and report risk to MMP Gas & Power management

• Collaborate and engage across the global team, sharing views and insights to contribute to the broader value-add of the risk management function

REQUIREMENTS:

University degree in economics, finance or a quantitative study
At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in credit risk management, ideally in a trading environment of an energy company, banking background
