Heard of us?

We're a nimble and ambitious financial services specialist. Backing people to fulfil life's hopes and dreams, delivering the most compelling customer experience across Banking and Motor Finance.

Now is your chance…

The Senior Credit Quality Assurance Manager is a second line role reporting directly to the Head of Combined Assurance. This is a key management role within the 'engine room' for Risk, providing independent oversight of credit approval decisions within agreed mandates, authorities and lending policies.

The Senior Credit Quality Assurance Manager will lead the team in undertaking effective credit assurance reviews with clear, tangible actions and recommendations and a robust approach to monitor and validate closure. The role will foster a proactive risk management culture and risk awareness across Aldermore.

The role of Senior Credit Quality Assurance Manager is really important to us.

When the time is right, we would love to welcome you to one of our hub offices in Reading, Manchester or Cardiff. In the meantime you will be based remotely. You'll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager, Head of Combined Assurance, and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction.

What would your day look like?

· Provide oversight of the quality of the credit portfolios across One Aldermore, including the quality of underwriting and in-life, credit decisions against risk appetite and policy

· Undertake thematic, risk-based reviews, across sectors and businesses and of the overall operation and effectiveness of Credit Quality Control frameworks, including oversight of business line QC activity

· Support the Risk COO with the Devolved Mandates and Quality Control framework and oversight required to ensure quality of underwriting decisions taken by credit mandate holders

· Develop the Credit Quality Assurance team and plan, to provide risk-based oversight and assurance on the effectiveness of credit decisions across the Group

· Produce clear feedback on risk themes arising from assurance activities to facilitate the enhancement of risk management and culture

· Manage the approach and process for lessons learnt reviews on material cases and events as appropriate, and support in ensuring these are understood across relevant stakeholders/teams

· Undertake stakeholder management with first- and second-line teams

What do we expect of you?

· Experience in credit underwriting and credit risk analysis, and understanding of best practice credit risk management

· Expertise and knowledge of the regulatory and compliance agenda within a retail banking environment and across Aldermore's key segments

· Demonstrable people management skills highly desirable but not essential, with the ability to provide clear direction and motivate others towards continual positive change

· Effective communicator, sharing insight that translates technical concepts into clear and understandable language, listening to and encouraging active collaboration amongst stakeholders

What can you expect of us?

· A friendly and flexible culture, synonymous with our proposition to our customers.

· A growing organisation that defines itself as being nimble, lean and strong.

· A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.

· A communicative, accessible and approachable ExCo.

And of course, you will be compensated competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential.
