Sales Ledger Assistant

We currently have two exciting opportunities available as a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our team working in Bournemouth. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive acompetitive salary of£18,000 - £19,000 per annum, plus benefits.

About the role:

As our Sales Ledger Assistant, you will be a key member of the Credit Control team. The role is to provide a service to the business raising invoices on behalf of SWW and Pennon, enabling successful debt collection for both parties.

What you'll be doing as our Sales Ledger Assistant:

  • To reconcile and allocate cash received and post to Ellipse Sales Ledger on a daily basis, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monthly reconciliations of cash and sales ledger invoicing in particular income related to Developer Services, Searches and other internal stakeholders.
  • Raising and issuing invoices to non-household retailers as per the MOSL market code, as instructed by SWW Finance Revenue Team and the SWW Wholesale Account Management Team.
  • Data entry in the Ellipse Sales Ledger system to create invoices, credit notes and financial postings.
  • Maximise cash flow through effective credit control and collections of commercial debt with agreed escalation routes where appropriate.
  • Working effectively in a small team sharing job responsibilities on a rota basis, providing telephone cover and administration to include journal posting.
  • Using Microsoft suite (Excel, Word and Outlook) and other corporate systems as required (Ellipse, Rapid, WMA, Corvu, Internet and Intranet)
  • Contacting customers to resolve payment issues and any other customer queries.
  • Ensuring that the Company's Code of Practice and Service Standards are observed and that company standards are met, and identifying areas for improvement.

What we are looking for in our ideal Sales Ledger Assistant:

  • GCSE grade B (minimum) or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of debt recovery Confident and experienced in using computers, particularly Microsoft Office packages and using spreadsheets.
  • Have a thorough approach with an ability to give attention to detail.
  • Ability to process financial information efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and set deadlines.
  • Motivated, innovative and reliable.
  • Experience of working as part of a small team.
  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexible with a desire to learn and understand the business whilst providing excellent customer service.
  • Flexible approach to tasks and hours worked.
