Regional Credit Manager

Description:

A dynamic Regional Credit Manager is required to join a market-leading electrical distribution business who are part of a successful global group of companies. Joining their South East Regional office in Tunbridge Wells, you will form part of a strong management team in a region that is a key part of the business and makes a significant contribution to their £1.3 billion UK turnover.

Responsibilities

As Regional Credit Manager you will be fully responsible for the leadership, direction and development of a team of staff controlling all commercial credit risk exposures in the region. You will:

Have full management responsibility for the Regional Credit Office and for a team of 6 staff
Evaluate and appraise new credit account applications
Review and manage existing risks and exposures
Travel throughout the region (covering Hampshire, Kent and Sussex) meeting branch managers and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers at a senior level
Provide expert technical advice and guidance to branch managers on any credit-related matters
Implement the company's credit management policy and service level requirements including appropriate debt recovery action through the Courts where necessaryRequirements

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a high calibre Commercial Credit Manager to make a significant personal contribution to the further development and growth of the South East Regional Credit Office. To meet this challenge you should be:

An experienced Credit Manager/Assistant Credit Manager with the successful management of a team of staff
Experienced in meeting with key customers and ideally working with individual branches to help the managers develop business and assess credit risks
Educated to degree level (or professional equivalent), preferably in accountancy or finance
A self-starter with a strong mind and assertive personality
An excellent communicator and negotiator
Commercially astute and able to make decisions with regard to credit limits
In possession of a full UK driving licence
Ideally able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of balance sheet appraisal techniques and, preferably, experience of applying such techniques in a commercial credit, risk appraisal and debt recovery capacityRewards

On offer is a starting salary of £45,000 - £50,000 (negotiable depending on experience), plus profit share bonus, company car, BUPA healthcare (for yourself and your family) and pension.
