IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE. Organised, numerate, accurate and experienced purchase ledger clerk wanted for this full-time, Purchase Ledger Clerk/Finance Assistant position, based at our fast-paced, innovative, alcohol gifting company's Covid Secure head office on Melbourn Science Park.

Working in our small finance team, tasks will include printing purchase invoices, matching purchase orders to goods received notes, matching goods received notes to supplier invoices, logging data into Excel spreadsheets, inputting data into Sage, dealing with freight/duty invoices, checking supplier statements, resolving invoice queries, checking expense claims, etc, as well as various other general office duties.

Skills, experience and qualifications required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Purchase ledger experience in a manufacturing company
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Sage 50
  • Experience of working in a small/medium sized company
  • At least a C grade in Maths and English at GCSE/O level or equivalent
  • A full driving licence and use of a car

You will also have excellent numerical and computer skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, fantastic organisational and time management skills, and a high degree of honesty and discretion.

In addition, you will be polite, well-presented and personable, remain calm under pressure, be a team player with a flexible attitude, have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, and be ready to "hit the ground running".

As part of the recruitment process, some aptitude tests to check accuracy, attention to detail, Excel skills and Sage 50 skills may be taken.

Company, salary & benefits

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience, and we also operate a company pension scheme. An annual discretionary bonus may also be paid. Holiday entitlement starts at 28 days per annum including bank holidays, gradually rising to 33 days per annum including bank holidays after a period of service.
