A highly professional company, who have soared through the past 12 months, are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger professional to support their group finance team in this new role due to business growth!

This business, with offices nationwide including one in Preston, prides themselves on a friendly, welcoming team, as well as their professionalism and high standards!

This role would suit an applicant with experience in a Purchase Ledger role who prides themselves on attention to detail and building strong relationships, both internally with wider colleagues and externally with a range of supplier profiles.

The Duties:

As Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be directly reporting to the Financial Controller, managing the accounts payable function for the parent company and subsidiaries/other legal entities within the group.

You will assist in maintenance of the purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices and employee expense claims. You will also be responsible for selecting and prioritising suppliers for payment, processing the payment runs for approval, bank reconciliations and resolving any purchase ledger related queries. This is a low volume processing role, with around 100 invoices a month / 2 payment runs, but with high value invoices, that require key attention to detail and multi-level approval.

You will be the sole person fully autonomous in owning the purchase ledger process, be well known around the business amongst internal stakeholders, and be thinking outside the box at all times with high levels of accuracy. You will also be able to support in any month end tasks where required for the Accountants and projects into the business, such as a new expenses management system.

The Requirements:

You will be a confidently spoken individual, who speaks at ease and professionally with colleagues and suppliers. You will be proactive, someone who can spot discrepancies with a keen eye for detail.

Experience in a similar Purchase Ledger role is required and while not essential, Professional Services background (due to the nature of the organisation) over a product based industry background would be beneficial but not essential. You will be highly computer literate with strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50.
