My Walsall based Contractors are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a temporary basis with the potential of the role becoming permanent for the right person. It is essential to the role that you have a construction background and understand sub contractor ledgers and payment runs.

Duties:-

* Posting invoices to subcontractor ledger & ensuring retention has been applied correctly where applicable

* Marking off invoices

* Issuing invoices to Project Managers for approval & approving invoices on system

* Compiling and running subcontractor payment run plus ad hoc payments as required

* Checking & applying payment dates

* Running remittance prints

* Ensuring CIS deductions are made where required

* Compiling payment run for Accounts Manager

* Entering payments

* Supplying remittances to subcontractors for CIS records

* Checking figures on subcontractor applications prior to VAT invoices being raised.

* Requesting approval of applications from Project Managers

* Issuing payment notices where required

* Ensuring reverse VAT is applied correctly

* Making sure subcontractor insurances are up to date

Key Skills:-

* Purchase ledger background within Construction

* Clear understanding of subcontractor ledgers & payment runs as well as CIS knowledge

* Good attention to detail and accuracy skills

* Ability to work within a fast paced and busy environment
