Purchase Ledger Clerk

My client is a leading manufacturer based in Shipley. They have been established for over 70 years and pride themselves on honesty, first class customer service and high-quality products.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be joining a friendly, supportive Finance department. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is needed for this role. Your main responsibility will be to ensure company expenditure is recorded correctly.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

General Accounts data entry
Preparation of payment runs to suppliers
Check, log and code ledger queries
Filing, photocopying and other ad hoc administrative duties
Statement reconciliation
Matching purchase ledger invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes
Obtain invoice authorisation by the appropriate manager
Enter invoice onto the computer system
Prepare the monthly payment run from Sage 200.
Weekly BACS run as suppliers request payment
Supplier statement reconciliations
Sort out any queries with suppliers and/or colleagues, this can be done by telephone, email, or in person
Analysis work
Other ad hoc duties as and when required

Key Skills:

Proactive and positive attitude to work
Logical and methodical manner
Ability to prioritise and prepare
Experience in a similar role
SAGE 200 experience is desirable
Confident using IT

The salary £21,000k

Working hours are Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00, with a 1-hour lunch and 28 days holiday.
