An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, service focused Purchase Ledger / Ledger Clerk to join a fast-growing Services Business based close to Warrington.

Reporting to the Ledger Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Purchase Ledger

Coding and inputting invoices, credit cards and expenses
Speaking to the sites to ensure invoices are approved on time and suppliers paid on time
Resolving supplier queries
Assist in preparing payment proposal
Reconciling accounts
Keeping supplier details, account and other records accurate and up to date
Improving the current processes in place
Sales Ledger

Running the invoices on a weekly basis, including manual invoices
Preparing monthly consolidated invoices and uploads to customer portals
Assist in preparing direct debit collection runs, including new direct debit mandates
Resolving customer queries including liaison with the relevant site as appropriate
Speaking to the sites to resolve invoice queries
Keeping customer details, account and other records accurate and up to date
Support debt management processes
Cash Ledger

Allocating daily cash movements to the correct customer / supplier / nominal account
Investigate allocation queries
Liaison across the business in respect of customer cash received into the wrong division

Ensuring penalty charge notices are paid on time and investigated where needed
Ensuring all credit card and expense transactions are loaded to the ledger accurately and timely to support payment requirements
Provide cover for other members of the ledger and wider finance team when necessary.
Maintain systems at all times to ensure quality and accuracy of information being recorded and/or presented.
Undertaking any other duties as requested by the, Ledger Manager, Finance Manager or Finance Director, including those related to ad hoc events or projects that may occur from time to time.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

Experience of purchase ledger processes. Experience of sales ledger processes would be beneficial
Strong excel skills to manipulate data to and from multiple formats
Attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisational skills
