Purchase Ledger Assistant

My client, a well-known business in the Newport area is seeking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join its large finance team.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the main duties of the role will include -

  • Ensure Purchase Requisitions are stored in an orderly manner ready to be matched up to purchase invoices.
  • Ensure purchase invoices are sent to appropriate personnel for authorisation.
  • Ensure invoices are posted accurately to the Purchase Ledger.
  • Hels deal with supplier queries on any relevant matter.
  • Help the Purchase Ledger Supervisor to ensure the accounts payable function works efficiently and accurately.
  • Work to ensure the invoices are all posted and released into the general ledger in time for monthly management accounts.
  • Deal with any queries by Financial Controller in relation to invoices, reports, or other matters.
  • Help to ensure the end of year reports are produced on a timely basis for presentation to the auditors or other parties as relevant.
  • Help maintain the filing records of the purchase ledger in an orderly manner.
  • Dealing with relevant queries from senior managers.

This role will ideally suitable someone who has limited accounts experience but who is willing to learn and expand their knowledge.
