Julie Rose Recruitment are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a growing company in Orpington for a one-year fixed term contract. The right individual will be numerate and have excellent attention to detail, along with previous Purchase Ledger experience.

Main Duties for the Accounts Payable Assistant:

  • Purchase Ledger Clerk - recording all invoices onto Sage
  • Assisting payment of invoices by BACS/cheque, chasing outstanding invoices, supplier statements reconciliations
  • Checking monthly expenses
  • Reconciliation of credit card statements and posting to Ledger
  • Monitoring and recording petty cash
  • Filing of invoices/expenses
  • Entering Journals in Purchase Ledger
  • Entering BACS supplier payments
  • Processing mileage

Person specification for the Accounts Payable Assistant

  • Professional and enthusiastic with a flexible approach to work
  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised and able to manage your own workload
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in using accounting software - ideally Sage
  • Ideally previous experience in a professional services environment
  • A good communicator in written and spoken English as you will be dealing with senior stakeholders and clients within the business.
  • Resilient as the job is pressured at times to meet the needs of the business
