NEW - Insurance/Financial Services Ledger Role - Home & City Based Opportunity

Do you have previous experience within a broking/insurance/financial service arena and keen to join a highly professional City based insurance brokers in a ledger controller role?

Do you have strong reconciliation and payment ability ideally gained within an insurance broker/financial services background and have a high level of MS Excel skills?

They are very well established having grown from an initial 7 employees to in excess of 460 with a Head Office in London and they are accredited with Chartered Broker status. This company is passionate about recruiting, developing and supporting their people throughout their careers and they currently have an opportunity for a Broking Ledger Controller which is partly home based but also at their Head Office near Fenchurch Street in London to help ensure the smooth running of the Company's Insurance Broking Account function and ensure that client money is accurately accounted for & that insurers commissions are paid on time and a summary of duties appear below:-

Account for/disperse client money on a timely basis.

Collect commission from insurers

Ensure Brokerage payaway requests comply with authorisation procedures and processed

Reconcile and raise payment requests for allocated insurer accounts

Ensure funding and commission variations are properly authorised, and that insurers are paid to agreed credit terms.

Liaise with broking staff and insurers to resolve all account differences

Immediately refer premiums not requested by insurers to broking staff to confirm that cover is in place and chase all direct commissions not appearing on insurer statements.

Investigate and clear old reconciling items on allocated insurer accounts.

Prepare and submit allocated Insurer Bordereaux to agreed timetables.

Report monthly re Insurer Creditors List and statements.

Check payment requests meet company authorisation criteria & process

Bank & allocate broking receipts

Maintain client money bank reconciliation

Assist in developing/implementing improved procedures and controls.

Liaise with insurer contacts and account handlers in relation to premium payment queries.

Maintain good working relationships with insurers, colleagues and account handlers.

Applications for this excellent opportunity are particularly invited from candidates who have worked within the finance section ideally in an insurance broker environment. Strong IT skills would also be required for this role to include Microsoft Word & advanced Excel (V Lookup knowledge would be an advantage) as well as the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload, communicate effectively at all levels and supervise team members when required.
