More about your role

We are recruiting for a superb entry level role into our large accounts team. This role is perfect for a positive person who is eager to learn an important part of the accounting cycle, chasing debt and bringing cash into the business.

As a Credit Control Junior, you will join a growing team and help to collect outstanding invoices for one of largest businesses, Places Leisure. You will help to reduce the aged debtor lists through a customer focused and methodical service. You will use your tenacity and problem-solving skills to ensure queries are resolved quickly, raising credit notes, reconciling accounts and escalating unpaid overdue debts to more senior Credit Controllers.

More about you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about a career in credit control and accounts. You should possess a good phone manner and be able to ask the right questions to understand why debts are unpaid and use your problem solving skills to resolve queries. You will also be a team-player and understand where to escalate matters to more experienced team members. As the role is working in our accounts department you will need a good grasp of maths, and be used to using Excel and Word.

In return we offer you the chance to make your first step in accountancy. Initially you will receive on the job training, after your probation we will look at more formal studies to enhance your career and learning about the more technical elements of the job. The role is based in our Preston office, we are trialling hybrid working so you will be able to split your time between work and home, however as this role will require training and support you should expect to be in the office at least 2 days per week.
