International Credit Manager

Description

I am currently partnering with a well established engineering business based in Surrey. They are looking to appoint an International Credit Manager to take full responsibility for the assessment and oversite of credit for the group.

The International Credit Manager will have great exposure across the business working closely with Regional FDs and FP&A teams to ensure the integrity of the cash forecasting and planning process across the group.

As the International Credit Manager your key roles will include:

  • Responsibility for setting and managing credit risk for domestic and international clients
  • Ensure that the group takes calculated and known credit risks in line with agreed credit policy guidelines
  • Ensure new customers are granted credit at an acceptable level based on risk profile
  • Partner with country teams to monitor credit risk and overdue debt plus associated reserve setting
  • To ensure high quality cash management analysis and reporting
  • Partner the regional/country teams on all operational credit collection matters

The key operations will include

  • Minimise credit risk across the group and ensure policy is being adhered to
  • Ensure the appropriate balance between credit risk and commercial risk is struck
  • Prepare credit analysis for the UK to support credit decision in co-ordination with SSC and local business leads
  • Monthly credit calls with country teams to track and monitor international credit risk
  • Management of AR exposures to ensure that reserves are taken appropriately
  • Improve process efficiency through automation and system tool enhancement
  • Advise senior management of cash flow forecasting risks and opportunities
  • Preparation of month end working capital corporate reporting for UK business
  • Consolidation and review of multi-business/multi-country working capital and balance sheet reports for submission to corporate office
  • Provide hands on operational support as required

The ideal candidate will be -

  • Professionally qualified with commercial appreciation and international perspective
  • Experience of working within a cross functional team to deliver high quality results within tight turnaround times.
  • Evidence of partnering with non financial managers / directors.
  • Excellent verbal reasoning, numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of credit/collections best practice
  • Credit background and knowledge of risk assessment techniques
  • Strong project management skills
  • Good systems (Oracle) and excel skills (Hyperion Planning)
