Housing Income Officer (Rent and Debt Recovery)

Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom, £ £ 27286.00-30659.00 Annual Annual, Permanent

Description:

Housing Income Officer (Rent and Debt Recovery)

Castle Vale, Birmingham

£27,286 - £30,659

Our client has a great opportunity to join their small and friendly Income team. You will be helping them collect their income so that they can continue to provide high quality services to the residents of Castle Vale. This is not the typical debt collection role you might imagine. Your focus will be on helping people who are experiencing financial difficulty meeting their rent obligations, and you'll find that when you've worked with a resident to sort out their debt you will have taken a load off their mind. This is a really rewarding aspect of the role. Where needed, you'll be referring customers onto others who can provide assistance. You will be able to get important messages across to customers, but be focussed on a positive outcome.

Your role will primarily be orientated towards collection of all housing revenue and recovery of all housing related debts including former tenants arrears, recharges and leaseholder debt. You will also be responsible for managing Income Advisor's performance via one to one reviews, training and support.

You will support the Income Manager in delivering the vision and initiatives for the Income team, of which you are an integral part of and ensure that your work achieves homeless prevention and reduction of all debt, maximised collection rates and mitigates the image of welfare reforms.

As an Income Officer you will also be required to coordinate and undertake the timely preparation of all court documents as the role includes representation at court.

As a small, friendly community led organisation there are lots of opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the work they do. If you have prior experience in a similar environment, are self-sufficient and self-motivated with an ability to work with minimal supervision whilst providing us with assurance on their collection services, we'd like to hear from you.
