Axon Moore are looking for a high calibre Head of Credit / Transactional Manager on Permanent basis for a well renowned, Manchester based, e-commerce business with a strong brand and reputation for quality.

A hugely successful family owned business with a turnover of circa £270 million per annum. Currently undergoing a Finance Transformation program, it is an excellent time to join the organisation as you will be directly involved in shaping the future of Transactional Finance.

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, driven and passionate Head of Credit / Transactional Manager to manage an existing finance team of circa 16 heads including team Managers, covering Credit Control, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

The successful candidate will report directly into a strong leadership team and will be join a vibrant team in a state-of-the-art office space.

Duties:

Management of international credit team & policy, exporting to 57 countries covered by a global insurance policy and 3000 sales ledger accounts
Ownership for credit and risk with regular review with the board and senior stakeholders. This will also require the maintenance of relationships with senior finance staff at key customers to make sure we are fully aware of any issues that could lead to slow or non-payment of invoices
Management of the credit insurance policy, including renewal and turnover declarations
Decision making over high level order release and credit limits
Monthly review of debtor ledgers to provide an estimate of bad debt provision to the accounting team
Management of global accounts payable function covering in excess of 2000 suppliers and 50,000 invoices per annum.
Responsible for the review and authorisation of weekly payment runs
Promptly dealing with the escalation of supplier issues
Bi-annual payment practices reporting
Management of the team responsible for global posting and allocation of wholesale, retail and mail order cash receipts
Liaising with IT and the wider business to ensure transactions are correctly recorded in the accounting system to ensure minimal queries generated
Setting and reviewing of KPIs for all Transaction team staff
Liaison with Treasury Manager to set cash collection and payment targets to ensure accurate cashflow forecasting.
Identifying and leading process improvements to improve accuracy, efficiency and to eliminate errors
Assisting with the go live of the new ERP system implementation
Supporting ad hoc projects for the business and across Finance
Managing staff daily performance as well as undertaking appraisals and development plans
Person Specification:

Experience of working in a complex business, ideally with operations either globally or across EMEA and the UK.
Experience of retail / e-commerce / manufacturing or experience in a shared service centre with high volumes of transactions is highly advantageous.
Strong Management skills with knowledge and experience of Credit team management with knowledge of the whole Transactional area.
A process improvement / transformation background
Having worked through previous ERP system implementations will be advantageous
Proficient in excel and the manipulation of large volumes of data
The overall package includes a bonus, calculated on company performance, 5% contributory pension, healthcare and company discounts.
