Head Of Credit & Cash

Leading Professional Service Organisation based in Manchester require a forward thinking Credit Manager to fulfil a permanent vacancy

This role is for strategic Credit Manager with a track record of transforming the performance of a collections and risk function. The credit manager will be responsible for developing strategies and improvement initiatives to set the strategic direction of the function to deliver against objectives and performance KPIs.

You will work closely and collaboratively with divisional management to drive increased accountability and a strong focus on cash delivery, aged debt reduction and dispute resolution. As the Credit Manager you will implement a credit risk policy and strategy to increase the focus within the group in relation to quality client engagement and the ongoing management of risk exposure with existing clients.

Key duties will include:

  • Use data driven insight to focus the function and the divisions on areas of concern and debt issues, working alongside the divisions to help them to understand trends and performance indicators
  • Actively review cash delivery methodologies to ensure they are appropriate for the business and the delivery of optimal results and ensure that cash and risk services are delivered in the most efficient and profitable way
  • Proactively engage with clients to build strong relationships and work alongside them to resolve collection, invoicing and process issues which will impact an improvement in debt performance for the organisation
  • Develop an ongoing communication and operating rhythm with divisional leadership to create confidence and engagement. Deliver complete clarity of expectations of both the collections function and the divisions.
  • Be able to understand and stratify the debt book in way that drives effective prioritisation and focus from our collection teams and divisional management.
  • Actively capture and control client data in relation to credit terms and use the insight to drive and improve performance of our clients and divisions
  • Proactively manage a reduction in the Group bad debt provision through robust collection techniques and understand the implications of on the groups policy
  • Provide narrative and oversight of the key monthly collection trends / themes to the Director of Finance Operations with additional strategic input into wider Operational function.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • 5 years credit management experience in a high volume environment
  • Proven track record in leading, driving and motivating credit team to meet and exceed targets
  • Experience of process engineering and analysing debtor reports
  • Strong stakeholder management
