General Ledger Senior Accountant

Description:

A global biotechnology company who are a market leader in their therapeutic area are looking for a General Ledger Senior Accountant to join their team.

This is a great opportunity to work for a pharmaceutical company who have created a centre of excellence and constantly focus on driving innovation and using cutting edge techniques in their science.

Your role will be focused on supporting general ledger activities and processes such as

* Accruals

* Prepayments

* Fixed Assets

* Cash forecasts

* Month-end and year-end reports

In addition, you will:

* Balance Sheet reconciliations across multiple currencies

* Analyse accounts and reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis

* Ensure SOX procedures are adhered to and manage all documentation needed for audit team

Requirements

* Degree educated in accounting, finance or similar field

* ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA qualified

* Previous experience in a similar role particularly within the pharmaceutical industry or in an organisation dealing with multiple currencies

* Excellent understanding of international accounting and finance processes such as month-end and year-end practices

* Excellent knowledge of financial management systems such as Oracle R12, OBIEE HFM and SMART view

* Advanced Excel skills

* US GAAP and IFRS

* Great understanding of SOX compliance requirements

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
