General Ledger / Bookkeeper

A general ledger role focusing on Record To Report accountancy. This role is for 6 months and is based in Bolton. Offering between £28,000 to £35,000.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring costs are appropriately allocated to business units in the UK
  • Managing large data sets and using lookups to verify costs to a variety of source data
  • Preparing cashbook entries
  • Investigating and resolving unknown items
  • Providing front office query handling
  • Calculating and posting accruals
  • Preparing month end reconciliations
  • Preparing analysis of cost/balance sheet
  • Monitoring and reviewing volumes of open transactions
  • Ad hoc duties


The successful candidate will:

  • Be part qualified in ACCA/CIMA OR be qualified by experience - essential
  • Have experience working within Shared Service Centres or multi business centres - essential
  • Have previous Record to Report accounting experience - essential
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team - desirable
  • Have excellent communication skills - desirable
  • Have good level of IT skills - desirable
