General Ledger Accountant

9 month fixed term contract

Slough, Berkshire

Robert Walters have partnered with a internationally well known organisation based in Slough, who are looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join them on a 9 month fixed term basis. The primary focus of this role is to take responsibility for the general ledger of assigned legal entities and to understand the accounting, business, and operations, including analysing and explaining P&L and balance sheet variances in detail.

Responsibilities:

Management of month, quarter and year-end timetable.
Preparation of monthly Legal Entity Management Reports.
Review and approval high-risk reconciliations prepared by the wider finance team.
Regular reviews of KPIs and performance against outsourced service level agreements.
Ensuring completeness, accuracy and on-time filing of the statutory financial statements.
Production, accuracy and on-time filing of any other regulatory or legally required financial or statistical returns.
Support the annual budget setting process for GL operating expense budget.
Support reviews and requests for information from other internal stakeholders.
Support business requirements gathering and user acceptance testing of finance system changes, upgrades and implementations.

Experience and qualifications required:

Qualified Accountant ( ACCA , ACA , CIMA , CA or equivalent) or Qualified by Experience ( QBE )
Proven process improvement skills are critical in this position.
Previous experience taking responsibility of a general ledger within a complex organisation.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
US GAAP knowledge is advantageous.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are vital
