A leading International Financial Services Business based in London is currently looking to hire a Financial Institutions (FI) Credit Officer to join their Risk Department, supporting both market & counterparty risk , measuring both across products.

This team is responsible for the measurement and analysis of market risk and trading performance across a variety of financial products, counterparty credit risk management including limit and trade approvals as well as documents approval and exposure management. The role of the department is as a second line of defence being business partner to the Front Office (FO).

Key Duties in the FI Credit Officer role will include:

  • Performance of credit and market risk analysis and portfolio management from FI FM perspective for corporate trades and structured trades initiated by FM desk.

  • Providing constructive challenge to front office and risk advice to mandate holders on these trades.

  • Monitor developments in the industry and Closely follow market developments and analyse potential impact on the portfolio and advising to head on potential adjustment to credit appetite.

  • Understanding and explaining the risk drivers of the positions to senior management within risk and FO. Supporting the business by providing appropriate risk advice to aid business management.

  • Active engagement with trading desk and credit measurement team on bespoke exposure measurement (PFE, LGD) for corporate trades as necessary.

  • Monitoring risk drivers and making sure they are reflected correctly in risk systems.

A successful application int hr FI Credit Officer role will include:

  • A University degree within a numerate subject is advantageous (Financial Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Econometrics or Accounting)

  • Professional Qualification is beneficial (CFA/FRM/PRM)

  • In-depth product knowledge of equities and debt linked FM products including margin loans, TRS etc

  • In-depth knowledge of discounted cash flow and relative valuations for credit risk assessments

  • In-depth knowledge of legal documentation (LMA, ISDA/CSA. GMRA. GMSLA etc)

  • Good technical skills (for example Python, SQL and VBA)
