Debt Caseworker Adviser

Position:  Experienced Debt Caseworker Adviser

This role is initially home-based by phone and webchat but within Government health and safety parameters after 19 July 2021 or other future date depending on Coronavirus conditions there may be opportunities to deliver advice face to face advice at various specified locations within Banstead, Horley, Merstham, Redhill, Tadworth at specified times. However, telephone advice will continue to be an important part of the role regardless of the extent to which social distancing measures ease. We aim to offer employees considerable flexibility as to where they deliver the work, subject to client needs.

The opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to work with an organisation affiliated to a nationally recognised Advice organisation. You will receive high quality training and personal development that will be career building. You will continue to develop your project management and communication skills. You will work with a skilled and highly motivated team and be continuously supported in your role. You will already be a fully qualified debt adviser with a Debt Advice Charity or Organisation and ideally an authorised DRO intermediary.

Person Specification

You must have a drive to acquire the relevant knowledge and constantly keep up to date and have an aptitude to learn quickly. You will possess the key skills set out below. In addition, you must be well organised so that you are on time for face to face, telephone or visually enabled appointments on time, every time. You will be methodical and have a natural inclination to pay attention to detail. You must be able to demonstrate that you are honest and reliable with excellent time keeping skills. Integrity will be second nature to you. You will possess an empathy for people who have got into financial difficulties and have the patience to help them gather the information and confidence to move forward with financial coping skills.

Ideally you will have some knowledge of Welfare Benefits

The offer

Location: A mix of working from home and at various locations in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead

Salary: Starting salary £26,355-£28,225 depending on experience and qualifications for example DRO intermediary and Certificate in Money Advice Practice.

Hours per week: 37.5 FTE per week flexible. Applications for part time hours are welcome
