In this hugely important role as a Debt Advisor, you'll be responsible for preparing and submitting applications for approval of a Debt Payment Programme (DPP) to the Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) Administrator for consideration

You will manage a caseload of clients following initial debt advice throughout the application process for the DPP under DAS. You will use the Common Financial Statement to assess a client's available surplus income available for distribution to creditors, and the amount the debtor wishes to offer as a contribution.

We're currently recruiting for our Glasgow contact centre which is a flexible role working both from home and our office (minimum 2 days a month in the office). Debt advisors work 35 hours a week

What will I be doing?

Use the Debt Arrangement Scheme portal (eDEN) to apply for a DPP on behalf of the client
Use eDEN to contact the creditors to confirm details of debt. Where the creditor is not registered to use eDEN details of all debts should be confirmed by other means: email, telephone and letter
Prepare and issue proposals on behalf of the client to creditors on eDEN requesting consent to the DPP application
To maintain accurate computer records and paper files in line with procedures and in compliance with GDPR and the DAS Regulations
To ensure all debt advice is delivered in line with the charity's quality standards and productivity targets

Skills we're looking for

Strong emotional resilience and rapport building skills
Previous experience as a Money Advisor (Desirable)
