Debt Advice, Debt Advice Development, Policy Development Your new company Launched in January 2019, the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) brings together the free services delivered by the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. We are an Arms-Length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. The organisation also engages with HM Treasury, which is responsible for policy on financial capability and debt advice. Working hand-in-hand with stakeholders throughout the UK, the Money and Pensions Service will ensure that money and pensions guidance is available to those that need it, adapting to people's changing needs throughout their lives. Your new role As Debt Advice Development Manager, your role within the organisation will be: To lead the Standard Financial Statement (SFS) project, expanding its use, ensuring high-quality day-to-day operation and managing its continued improvement to remain best practice in Income and Expenditure statements in the UK.To manage the ongoing development of the Mental Health Access Mechanism for Breathing Space in collaboration with our partners. This is to ensure a high-quality service which meets the needs of customers and mental health professionals.To improve the impact of broader debt advice services, including developments which lead to better client outcomes, increased capacity and greater efficiency. Some key accountabilities include (but aren't limited to): Lead the development and improvement of products and services that promote long term systemic change and best practice in the debt advice sector. This will relate to the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing and in particular the Target Future State for Debt Advice.Lead the SFS project: including day-to-day management, overseeing the spending guidelines uprating each year, commissioning supporting research, developing new or adjusted relevant policies. This will be in collaboration with the SFS Governance Group.Identify, prioritise and address problems, waste, risks and opportunities for value to continue developing the SFS and ensure it remains best practice.Maintain and develop the Mental Health Access Mechanism for Breathing Space, ensuring that the service is as effective as possible for customers, mental health professionals and advisers.Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to design, prototype and build service improvements.Attending, supporting and contributing to relevant creditor and debt advice stakeholder events.Producing high quality agendas, reports, minutes, briefings and other research to strict deadlines.Providing subject matter expertise on debt advice and service design to other teams in the Service. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful on application, it is expected that you will possess the following skills/experience: A strong customer focus and desire for excellent user experience with working experience of user research, co-design or similar techniques.Demonstrable experience of project or service leadership.A sharp focus on value, with ability to make clear measurements and success criteria.Strong communication skills with proven expertise at influencing and engaging senior and operational stakeholders, both internally and externally.An outstanding record in management and engagement with a broad range of stakeholders.A broad and deep understanding of debt advice (desirable) What you'll get in return In return you will be placed into a permanent role paying circa £65,000 per annum.
