About the Role:

As Debt Advice Case Worker you will provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

The charity's Biblically inspired mission is to 'Restore Dignity and Renew Hope' to those in communities brought down by poverty and debt. As Case Worker you will play a part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.

The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. Much of the role will be to work 'behind the scenes' building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate strategies for the client.

About you:

To be successful in the role of Debt Advice Case Worker ideally you will have prior debt advice experience and experience of leading and supervising volunteers. However, someone without direct debt advice experience would be considered as a trainee adviser if you are able to demonstrate that you possess the skills, maturity and determination to become proficient in this role.

An exceptional self-starter, with the ability to take the initiative and search out information
Willingness to embrace new challenges and throw yourself into learning new skills
Great communication skills, with the ability to respond to several enquiries across various mediums
Fantastic organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively
