An established and fast growing Specialist Lender requires a top drawer Development Finance Underwriter to join their busy team based in London. ( Flexible with part home based)

The client is a lender for property developers/investors who are undertaking large projects within commercial and residential properties. They deal with a wide range of loan values and purposes, making the role an interesting and varied prospect for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities for the Development Underwriter:

* Manage a pipeline of cases in a fast-paced environment dealing with high volume workflows and prioritising accordingly.

* Underwrite Development and Bridging loan applications within company lending criteria and funding partners guidelines by making quality lending decisions and articulate them fully.

* Be alert to the risks attributed to an application ensuring that the loan is both suitable and fit for purpose

* Recommending appropriate mitigation of risks where possible.

Requirements:

* 5 years Underwriting +

* MUST have development finance experience

* Needs to be able to sign off on deals

* Less about actual man-management and more about being able to set a great example through expertise, thus being able to offer advice to Underwriters.

* Have experience of 'manual' underwriting, where they can seek the solution on each case, rather than a 'computer says no' Underwriter

* In the long-term we are looking to give more autonomy to the Underwriters.

In return for this role my clients are looking to offer a basic salary of between £80,000 - £100,000
