Credit Risk Analyst

Permanent, full time, London based

Role purpose

Working as a key member of the risk team to ensure the Credit Risk function is robust and managed within the key requirements of the business. The candidate will be responsible for the development of business critical statistical credit risk models and play a vital role in producing valuable insight into the Home Financing portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a background in modelling and Credit Risk from a Home Financing institution, preferably with experience covering two or more of the following areas of stress test modelling of the banks business plan, Basel (PD, LGD, EAD), ECL (IFRS9), credit scorecards and model validation. This candidate will be a key member of this business, helping drive through improvements and shaping the future of the department.

Key responsibilities

Developing statistical credit risk models including, origination and behavioural scorecards, Basel (PD, LGD, EAD) for approval in the next few years, impairment (IFRS9) and stress testing models.
Responsibility of model documentation, implementation and subsequent monitoring
Responsibility for analysing portfolio trends and making recommendations for changes and improvements to product range, application process, strategy design and operations processes.
Building and developing analytical capability within the organisation to design, monitor and enhance credit risk strategies and policies.
Develop an analytical and reporting framework that supports broader enterprise-wide activities such as business plan stress testing.
Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

Skills required

You must have excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills, using analytical methods to provide practical value based solutions.
Knowledge of building models and scorecards for a residential finance provider
Knowledge of using credit bureau data in risk analysis
Experience of SAAS - essential
Experience on SQL - essential
Knowledge of residential Home Financing
Knowledge of IFRS 9 provisioning process (desired)
Hands on experience and solid knowledge of analysis software languages
Highly proficient using Excel and other analysis tools
Statistical background to produce reporting and models
Ability to work in an extremely fast paced start-up environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extremely self-motivated / Operate independently
