About the role

As the Credit Officer for Central Clearing Counterparties (CCPs) & Intermediaries in Financial Institutions Credit, your initial focus will be on the credit quality of a portfolio that ranges from the largest exposures in Lloyds Banking Group - supporting the trading businesses for Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets and the Ring-Fenced Bank - to relatively small Foreign Exchange Brokers.

You'll be part of the Specialist Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Team which means you will also help cover Insurance, Specialist Finance and Securitisations. In time, you will collaborate on other portfolios in FI Credit, such as Banks & Intra-Group, Funds, Sovereigns and Wealth Management. If you're new to these sectors, we'll help you to learn how to analyse these fascinating industries and make well-reasoned recommendations to senior sanctioners.

Here's where you'll make a difference:

  • You'll manage your own portfolio and use your insight to incorporate a forward view of horizon risks in your credit papers and discussions with stakeholders.
  • You'll proactively contribute to sector strategy and appetite, credit policies and processes for your own and the wider portfolio.
  • You'll build positive relationships to become a trusted business partner for Coverage and Product and helping drive collegiate working across FI Credit.
  • Take ownership of data integrity and championing simplification initiatives.

We understand that traditional working hours don't suit everyone, so you'll have opportunities to undertake your role in an agile and flexible way, for example working non-standard hours or homeworking on a regular basis!

What you can bring to the role

Essential:

  • You'll have strong written and oral communications skills
  • Be comfortable with numerical analysis
  • You'll be an enthusiastic teammate able to build strong partnerships beyond the team
  • You should have a sound understanding of the credit risk assessment of Non-Bank Financial Institutions or other larger corporates

Desirable:

  • An understanding of derivative and lending products would be helpful
  • Knowledge of CCPs or other sectors in financial institutions would be a distinct advantage
