Credit Management Accounts Technician : You will be providing effective cash collection, reconciliation and credit control function for a designated panel of brokers, within agreed service standards.
The Credit Management Department is responsible for the collection and reconciliation of premiums due to Ageas Insurance Ltd from around 1,800 Broker Accounts on a monthly basis. The Credit Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that each of their allocated Brokers settles their accounts within the predetermined credit period, which will require excellent relationship building and communication skills with exemplary attention to detail to ensure the accurate reconciliation of broker accounts.

Main Responsibilities as Credit Management Accounts Technician :

Maintenance of allocated broker scheme accounts and responsibility for control of associated credit risk. Jobholder is responsible for ensuring that payments are made to terms and that remittances are processed and fully reconciled in an efficient and timely manner (within defined KPI timescales)
Maintenance of allocated schemes on the bordereaux upload tool (Intrali), including the addition of new binders/agencies; amendments to existing maps as well as new map creation; and validation controls
To investigate discrepancies arising from the prompt & accurate electronic processing of bordereau payments. Outstanding account premiums are reviewed and cleared by appropriate methods (premium adjustment/ accounting journal) necessitating close liaison with Schemes Processing and Underwriting departments to maximise cash flow and assist in the elimination of schemes aged debt. Regular maintenance of allocated ledgers is essential, ensuring all non-renderable items are dealt with promptly and accurately
To complete detailed account reconciliations for those agents where it is necessary to affect manual reconciliation & clearance. Each account with a manual requirement requires an individual reconciliation approach and for each, a specific reconciliation schedule is prepared. The process necessitates analysis and evaluation of discrepancies arising from the data supplied by an agent and premium debited to AIL ledgers. Highly effective & varied communication processes required (internally & externally) to achieve effective control of the inherent risks i.e. delayed or non-payment
To perform designated Technical account reconciliations promptly and accurately, ensuring efficient processes are in place to deal with queries arising; meeting the defined KPI's; communicating effectively with Agents and relevant AIL staff as required
To demonstrate a progressive attitude towards the success of the Department by adopting determined procedures readily and making considered recommendations towards further initiatives
'Treating Customers Fairly delivery' - To ensure that fair treatment of customers is integral to the operation of the area of responsibility, and that effective education, analysis and monitoring takes place so that prompt action can be taken to ensure compliance.
To settle claims bordereaux as requested by relevant scheme. Ensuring payment value, workings and banking details are correct before raising for approval on the BACS automated payment system
To demonstrate a progressive approach to development & risk management. Jobholder to analyse and promote considered recommendations for enhancement & development of the role and utilised systems and processes

Skills and experience you need as Credit Management Accounts Technician:

Ability to approach and solve problems in a logical manner within guidelines
Strong communication skills (exhibiting good questioning & listening skills). These skills are necessary to successfully liaise with Brokers and internal AIL departments to achieve prompt & accurate resolution of account queries and associated issues
Good planning & prioritisation ability to be able to handle the caseload effectively
Advanced understanding of I-Series, CDL Strata and GroupIT accounting systems is desirable
Advanced Excel & Word skills essential
Excellent numerical skills required to facilitate accurate account reconciliations
Good standard of education required, preferably supported by a minimum of 5 GCSE's (Including English & Maths).
