Newly launched Alternative Credit Hedge Fund in London is looking to make its second technology hire into the business. The Alternative Credit Funds is focussed liquid credit instruments, index-based products, using a systematic and quantitative approach to invest.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Python Developer with prior experience in Credit Derivatives and developing systematic and quantitative trading strategies. Working in a small team that encompasses portfolio management, quants and technology functions, you will work closely with the head of development to build out a secure, reliable and scalable technology platform for the newly formed firm.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who is looking for a role in the hedge fund industry with direct collaboration with portfolio managers. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and this role will require a high-motivated and ambitious individual who can excel in a high-pressure workplace. An ability to deal with multiple workstreams and challenges is key.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build interactive web application for trading and portfolio management;
  • Migrate existing system to cloud-based architecture, (AWS and MS Azure).
  • Implement CI/CD workflow and new features across risk management, pricing and valuations.

Prerequiste required skills and experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematical or Quantitative related discipline.
  • 2-3 years' experience of developing in Python.
  • Able to clearly communicate complex technical issues and partner with a range of business stakeholders.
  • Experience of deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database systems.
  • Experience of DevOps practices and toolchain, including CI/CD.
  • Experience of building web applications and GUIs.
  • Experience of working in a Financial Service setting, particularly Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives trading and investments.

This role is based in the new London office, with direct interaction and collaboration with PMs, Traders, Quants and Senior Management. A competitive base salary is on offer, with potential for bonus and stock option and discretionary company performance.

This is a complete greenfield build of systematic and quantitative IT infrastructure for a new formed Alternative Credit Fund in London. Applicants will be asked to clarify their technology stack and underlying knowledge of Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives.
