Credit Controller/Sales Ledger -Stourport-on-Severn - £20,000 - £23,000 DOE

The opportunity:

This Credit Control / Sales Ledger position will play a key role will be within a fast paced, driven finance team of 10. The suitable candidate should have experience within a similar position within a service related industry, be commercially aware and customer focused.

This role is responsible for effectively and efficiently monitoring and maintaining a large customer base of National and Non-National accounts, maximising cash collection whilst minimising aged debt and bad debts risks.

his is a varied role, suited to someone who is able to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers via phone and email and able to pro-actively plan, organise and prioritise work.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

Experience working within a credit and sales ledger department is essential, with a proven ability to manage and reduce debt with credit risk awareness
Strong IT and MS Excel skills (including pivot tables, look ups etc.)
Sage Line 50 experience would be advantageous
High levels of personal organisation
Proven record of working to tight deadlines
Flexibility to shifting workloads Key Responsibilities

Achieve cash collection and overdue debtors targets by monitoring and chasing overdue customer accounts in accordance to agreed terms
Processing credit card/BACS and Cheque payments as required
Daily banking and timely allocation of cash (including setting up DD payments and dealing with PDQ transactions)
Review customer accounts for legal action
Maintaining clear communications with Commercial Account Managers, providing direction and support where required to manage and minimise debt
Perform Credit Checks
Assign and amend correctly authorised credit limits
Assisting in sales ledger month end procedures
Supporting with key activity and projects within the Finance department
