Credit Controller

This international law firm has over 20 global offices delivering a full range of legal services, especially those of a complex, high-profile and multi-jurisdictional nature. Their core sectors are aviation, insurance and reinsurance, international trade and energy and shipping.

Their Edinburgh Finance Department is looking to hire a Credit Controller to provide support across all practice groups.

Responsibilities

• Ensure invoice debts are collected in a timely manner.

• Regular meetings with partners and clients to ensure all relevant debts are chased as necessary.

• Follow up overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales.

• Maintain accurate notes on the credit control database.

• Deal with queries from case handlers, clients and other members of the Finance Department. Daily communication with cashiers and billing assistants.

• Establish working relationships with the partners in dealing with outstanding debts and negotiating for payment with clients.

• Deal with ad hoc queries and provide schedules to clients, using the PMS and Excel.

• Regular team meetings with the Senior Credit Controller to establish an approach for chasing outstanding debts in the forthcoming period.

• Any other ad hoc duties as necessary to support the management of outstanding client debts in line with agreed targets.

Candidate Profile

• You will have extensive Credit Control experience from a law firm.

• Experience of Elite 3E software, or similar, will be a bonus. Good knowledge of Excel.
