Credit Controller

The Senior Credit Controllers purpose is to support the Credit Risk Team in the management of premium debt due to the business. Through the monitoring, collection of premiums and account review look to reduce the premium debtor position with any intermediary to the business. To act as technical lead to credit controllers.

Parameters of the role will include

Primarily responsible for collection and monitoring of a prescribed book of business

Collection and Accounting of Due Debt

Ensure effective collection of due debt through processes that are in accordance with company guidelines, including allocation/accounting of all debt / unallocated cash received.

Team Coaching

To provide first line of escalation to Credit Controllers and ensure risks/trends across the team are fed to the Lead Credit Controller.

Gain a full understanding of: Business processes, system use, data capture work across the team to assist in the process of improving debt collection and reporting.

Debt Monitoring/Analysis

To monitor account specific debt cycles highlighting to the Credit Risk Manager and teams of potential issues, deviances or fluctuations in cycles. Thus assisting in the management of credit risk.


To provide ad hoc (flash) reports to Lead Credit Controllers, as required. Including - aged debts, Top 10 broker analysis.

The Operating Environment and Context of the Job

An understanding of London & Non London Market business is required. Interaction with Brokers and London Market Organisations is a key part of the role and the ability to work to tight monthly deadlines is critical. The key driver to collect money and reduce debt is the main focus of the team which can be fraught with data quality, systems and process challenges.
