Credit Controller

Description:

Credit Controller

As a Credit Controller, you'll be part of a small team of five people. This role will involve general credit control duties as well as providing support to our Management Accounts team.

You will speak to our customers on a daily basis, so you'll need to be an excellent communicator. There is regular contact with the wider teams and building relationships with key individuals and teams will be important.

Credit Controller main duties:

Working efficiently with the team to provide a seamless service to internal and external customers through a variety of communication channels and within our set standards

Investigating and taking ownership of customer queries in order to remove obstacles to payment

Proactively contacting customers to follow up on promised payments as needed

Taking payments by phone as required

Updating direct debit details in order to ensure successful collections

Customer account reconciliations

Daily posting and allocation of the cash receipts

Preparing regular bank reconciliations

Maintaining the Remittances, Accounts and Credit Control team mailboxes ensuring turnaround times are adhered to

Investigating and resolving billing queries via email and telephone

They are looking for you to:

Have a proven background in customer experience and conflict resolution

Is a methodical individual with high standards - you take genuine pride in your work so it's right first time for our customers.

Has the ability to manage and prioritise workload at peak times of the month

Is a clear and strong communicator in both written and verbal form, who is confident in speaking to different people internally and within the customers' business to build a strong rapport and manage expectations

Is a keen problem solver with a desire to take ownership to resolve queries, being comfortable to go and find the answer for the more bespoke queries you might encounter

Proven empathy skills

Has a flexible mindset and is open to helping other members of the team or wider finance team

Has IT Skills in particular Excel and Word. Training will be given on our accounting systems

Experience of credit control

Knowledge or experience of Finance systems e.g. SAP Business One

Previous experience of general finance tasks eg reconciliation work, journal postings, remittances
