Credit Controller

A fantastic opportunity for a Credit Control to join a highly successful growing business based in Skelmersdale

Job Purpose

This persons primary responsibility is accounts receivable functions which can also include ad hoc duties as and when required for the accounts department

Principal accountabilities

Chase overdue monies on all ledgers as required over the group companies
Post daily receipts to multi ledgers
Raise credit notes once authorised
Help with raising month end invoices over all companies
Bank cheques and cash as required
Contact all customers by telephone to chase overdues
Attend update meetings with Senior Credit Controller and Finance Manager
Escalate issues in a timely fashion
Liaise with all departments as required where issues may arise
Set up new customers on the system once authorised
Send out monthly statements to all customers
Send letters to customers advising on action where unpaid invoices
Send copy invoices as requested
Chase as required PO numbers and update the systems
Generate invoice runs each day over all ledgers to ensure invoices are sent to customers by email
Attend monthly meetings with Directors to give an update on customers
Resolve queries both internally and externally within a timely fashion
Notes to be updated on a daily basis on a working spreadsheet, spreadsheets to be kept in order in a file that's accessible on the shared drive

Excellent telephone manner
Strong people skills - to be able to build rapport and professional relationships with customers
A sense of urgency - able to prioritise and meet deadlines
Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm
Clear and logical thinker
Multi-tasking and organisational skills
Good administration skills

Skills

Experience in an accounts office environment is preferred
Strong PC skills
Varies experience of functions performed within an accounts/office environment
