Credit Controller

Description:

Credit Controller required for a company in Nuneaton. You will be reporting into the Financial Controller and duties will be
- Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
- Handle disputed invoices and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
- Provide accurate advice on invoicing queries (pricing issues and delivered quantities)
- Review all customer raised debit notes to validate or dispute
- Raise credit notes with appropriate supporting documentation for approval by FM / FC
- Respond promptly and completely to both customer and internal queries
- Propose write-off of irrecoverable debts
- Prepare files for transfer to the Debt Recovery Company
- Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
- Post payments to accounts and allocate as required
- Review customer accounts on hold (as a result of credit limit exceeded or default on credit terms), liaise with sales ordering department and National Accounts manager
- Maintain and review credit limits regularly.
- Managing, developing and coaching a team.
- Responsible for opening new customer accounts on system
- Undertake account reconciliations as required
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
- Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
- Liaise with despatch team to ensure monies received from independents are recorded
- Update tracker with monies received ready for banking
- Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested
- Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Financial Controller or any other person designated in their absence
