Credit Contoller

Main Location: Heywood, Manchester
Normal Hours: 8:30 to 17:00 (Main working week is Monday to Friday)

JOB OVERVIEW
To support the Finance Team leader in monitoring, recording and processing payments related to the Customs, VAT and Duty.
Process and Reconcile Vat and Duty payments and Charges for Customers and HMRC.
Monitor customer deposits to ensure they have funds to clear goods.
Work with Operations to ensure customers goods are processed in timely manner without risk of financial exposure.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the company with the collection of outstanding debt. • Manage customer queries. • Monitor and record payments for Customs Duty and VAT. • Ensure confirmation of customer balance against the total receivable. • Monitor and control deposit accounts to ensure Customers don't exceed the limit. • Liaise with operations to ensure release of good once debts are cleared. • Allocation of receipts. • Assist in all accounts receivable related duties. • Reconcile Customs Duty Charges.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years credit control experience

Excel skills

Logistics experience an advantage

Full or part qualified AAT Accountancy qualification or equivalent work-based knowledge
• Minimum 12 month working in a finance environment
Skills and Abilities
• Computer Literate in Microsoft Word & Outlook, and the ability to work on complex spreadsheets in Excel
• Good communication and listening skills
• Good organisational skills used in planning own work
• Ability to self-motivate and manage own time whilst delivering to agreed deadlines and timescales
• Methodical with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and Competencies
• Skills to communication with a wide range people via phone and email
