Credit Controller

Description:

Our client, based in Manchester, is currently recruiting for a Credit Controller on a 6-12 month contract covering maternity leave. Our client is proud to be a multi-award winning organisation who provides high-quality housing to people in need.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis and the salary is competitive for this position. Please note this role will be working within the office.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years\' experience within the sector however, this can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

* Chasing debt from 20 Local Authorities across the North West

* Hold a ledger value of approximately £2.5million, which will involve navigating Local Authority portals

* Deal with queries via telephone, email and face to face and escalate difficult queries to managers

* Hold responsibility for cash allocation, general banking and bank reconciliations

* Raise of sales invoices and hold a general understanding of invoices

* Put customers on payment plans where necessary when struggling to pay invoices

* Produce account reconciliations for specific accounts and ensured they had been updated onto the database

* Update and prepare direct debit collection schedules to ensure customer payments are made on time

Experience required:

* Tackling historical errors and investigating invoice queries

* Chasing outstanding payments from public sector clients

Working hours:

* 37.5 hours per week

* Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (flexi-time available)
