Credit Controller for large local East Anglian business

Atkinson Moss are currently working with a business who are a leading service provider in Norwich. This role will be working for the main business and all associated companies.

The Company are looking for a Credit Controller to join their finance team, reporting into the Finance Director. The role will accurately maintain, process, monitor and control all transactions concerning the sales ledger/credit control function and to minimise the credit risk to the businesses.

The key role for the Credit Controller will be the management of the company's sales ledger process including:

  • To proactively monitor current and future customer credit requirements. Gather relevant information from internal and external sources to be able to manage company credit risk.
  • Actively and proactively chase debtors to ensure accounts are maintained in accordance with company credit terms.
  • Processing of all sales ledger related transactions in an accurate, timely and efficient manner, including receipts by cheque, cash, BACS, credit notes, invoices, contra's etc.
  • To provide necessary information to enable timely and accurate decision making. Regular liaison with management to review all aspects of account management and activity.
  • Reconciliation of balances, invoice queries, payment allocation etc. Communicating with customers to resolve problems and queries.
  • Dealing with all internal & external aspects of ledger including payment queries, held invoice details and audit.

Who we are looking for:

  • An excellent and experienced Credit Control professional with a high level of competence and knowledge expected.
  • A good knowledge of the IT systems used, Kerridge, Sage, Excel and Word a minimum
  • Must be able to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, in a busy working environment.
  • The role requires a strong character that is able to effectively communicate and deal with pressurised situations.
  • A good team-player, able to work with team members and also to effectively manage their behaviour to the benefit of the business.
  • Ability to plan ahead, also to deal with unforeseen issues should they arise. An effective problem solver.
