The Opportunity:

As Credit Control Manager you will be primarily responsible for managing the credit control processes. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounts receivable and credit control process to ensure prompt collections of outstanding bills as well as providing reporting and insights to the senior management team.

Some of the key responsibilities for this successful individual would be but no limited to:

* You will manage the AR team of eleven workflow across the group of companies as well as having responsibility for your own debt portfolio.

* You will be instrumental to developing new processes to streamline the credit control process.

* There is line management responsibility for a team of Accounts Receivable and Credit Controllers.

* Set monthly cash collection and direct debit target.

* Ensure accurate cash and aged debt forecasts are produced.

* Maintain and manage an agreed credit strategy.

* Ensure the team keep up to date on individual tasks such as reducing the unallocated cash, taking accounts off dispute, chase customers when direct debits have failed.

* Conduct regular ledger reviews with controllers & be able to provide updates & reports on performance of accounts & sales ledger performance using performance and trend analysis.

* Manage the escalations that are driven by the team members.

* Build effective relationships with IT, Finance and the wider business to drive process efficiencies & solve day-to-day problems.

* Propose, recommend and implement process and system improvements.

The Candidate:

The successful Credit Control Manager will be/have:

* Experience in Credit Control at a senior level.

* Positive can-do attitude and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach.

* Analytics skills to develop and report on key KPI's.

* Out of the box thinking to come up with innovative solutions.

* Proven track record of a management or senior role within a credit control function, particularly systems implementation and managing change

* Line management including performance appraisal, team and individual development and attendance management

* Setting up a direct debit collection service

* Resource management and workflow management

* Track record of success in a busy hands-on holistic credit role

* Experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholder

* Experience of running bad debts with lawyers

* Experience in using an accounting software, Sage 200 (preferred, but not essential) and IT debtor management application

* Comfortable with Microsoft Excel (pivots/vlookups)

* Good understanding of legal processes and insolvency procedures

* Proven experience meeting and exceeding team and individual KPIs

* Strong communication, telephone & customer service skills
