Client Details

A York based housing association with close to 1500 properties across the area are looking for some immediate assistance within their finance team to help with income recovery.


The key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • To ensure that revenue due fpr rented and leased housing is maximised in line with agreed policies, processes, standards and targets and that the overall debt owed is reduced on an ongoing basis
  • To co-ordinate and liaise with operational teams to ensure timely and effective arrears actions
  • To ensure the collection of all former tenant arrears owed to the association
  • To deal with all Housing Benefit non/under/over payment issues with Local Authorities
  • To promote excellent performance management and excellence approach generally across the company


The successful candidate will have the following key skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working with people on income management issues
  • Working in an income/debt recovery role
  • Knowledge of social housing and housing benefits
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workload
  • Past experience of working to deadlines and targets
  • Any experience in housing is desirable but not essential

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be offered the following:

  • £12-14 per hour
  • Temporary contract with potential to be converted to permanent
