They now seek to appoint a Credit Control & Sales Ledger Assistant on a permanent, full time basis to join their already experienced team. Your New Role as the Credit Control & Sales Ledger Assistant:

As the Credit Control & Sales Ledger Assistant you will report to the Finance Manager, carrying out the following duties:-

• Evaluation of new customer credit applications for approval by the Finance and General Manager
• Maintaining existing and creating new customer accounts, maintaining appropriate levels and terms of credit
• Emailing and checking the invoice previews prior to producing the invoices
• Raising weekly and month end sales invoices using Insphire software and posting to Sage
• Resolving invoice queries and disputes both internally, liaising with depots, and externally with customers and processing credit notes in a timely manner
• Ensuring the correct nominal and VAT codes are being used
• Emailing/posting monthly statements
• Credit control daily to keep the debtor days and cash collection within target
• Posting customer receipts to the customer ledgers and completing the bank reconciliation
• Scanning and electronic storage of customer application forms and remittance advices
• Managing and collecting debts from company debtors
• Maintaining the cash collection spreadsheet
• Maintain the log of credit notes and reasons
• Maintain stolen machines spreadsheet, raise insurance claim and 2/3rd rates invoices and chase up
• Daily bank reconciliation for the invoice finance account
• Daily banking email
• Chasing customers HIP insurance on renewal and for new customers
• Maintaining strong business relationships with customers
• Reviewing procedures and systems to identify improvement opportunities
• Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Finance Manager

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

To be considered for this position, you must have:-
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
• Self discipline and motivation with the ability to resume responsibility and act on own initiative
• Be well organised and pro-active
• Attention to detail
• Good team working skills
• The ability to work to deadlines
• An aptitude for IT - knowledge of software like Excel, Sage 200 and Outlook
