Description

  • Contact (primarily by telephone) a sample of debtors on clients within your portfolio on a monthly cycle, and prospective clients, to confirm receipt and status of invoices and determine the nature of any queries or reason for non-payment.
  • Provide a thorough yet concise review of findings to the New Business or Relationship teams and Risk Manager with any recommendations for action, following interpretation and analysis of findings.
  • Proactively seeks to understand the client\'s business, to ensure the potential risk to the business is understood, identify fraud and communicate concerns to necessary parties within the business.
  • Work with both colleagues and clients to determine the most appropriate and effective way of verifying the debtor book.
  • Provide efficient and effective credit control to a clients debtor book, in the event of their business ceasing to trade. Determine the most appropriate way to resolve outstanding queries, agree and monitor payment plans where needed, personally handling problem accounts when necessary. Recommend or advise on the need to pursue payment through legal action and liaise with an external litigation team. Liaise with and report on progress to the Recoveries Manager.

Profile

  • Communication skills - Maintain high level professional conduct with internal and external customers via face to face, the phone, email and in written communication. Ensure all communications are of a high standard, clear, articulate and timely.
  • Provides excellent customer service - Manages debtor and invoice verification of client\'s book debts whilst providing a high level of customer service and protecting security
  • Listen and interpret information - Excellent listening skills, understands how and when to action information, to the appropriate person. Understand a complex situation and provide an executive summary.
  • Understand needs - Sees things from both the clients and the debtors point of view; identifies clients needs and has a sympathetic approach whilst protecting the businesses security.
  • Attention to detail - Ensures all elements of a task are completed as per the KPC. All conversations and invoice status information is recorded accurately and within our operating systems.
  • Decision-making - Decides and makes recommendations on further actions, back up decisions to liner manager.
  • Develop solutions, problem solve and agree things with people - Determine the problem, suggest / recommend appropriate solutions. Monitors and reports on collection performance.
  • Ability to say \'no\'
  • Takes initiative - Uses appropriate questioning and / or chasing techniques. Seeks to recommend alternative methods of invoice verification (and collection if necessary). Takes responsibility for actions, manages time, prioritises work and plans ahead. Recommend best working practices, suggest improvements, providing and communicating the information.
  • Manages risk - Knowledge of clients business and processes. Awareness of money laundering and data protection legislation. Monitors risk and possible fraud
  • Numerate - Demonstrates an ability to work with numbers eg a good understanding of Excel.
  • IT skills - Intermediate PC knowledge. Good keyboard skills and competent user of Microsoft Office

9.00 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday and a 16.30 finish on Friday
