Assistant Accountant - Purchase Ledger Clerk

Athwal Resourcing is currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk for a SME manufacturing company in Oldbury. Working within a small finance team you will be maintaining all aspects of the Purchase Ledger and ensure that all suppliers are paid in a timely and accurate manner, in line with the company's controls and procedures.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your duties will include:

  • Inputting purchase invoices and process monthly credit card expenses;
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements;
  • Ensuring invoices are processed with correct VAT rate;
  • Month end reports relating to purchase ledger;
  • Liaise with the purchasing department to process debit notes;
  • Handle internal and external enquires;
  • Adhoc duties as required within the finance department.

You will ideally possess the following:

  • Experience of high volume purchase Ledger processing;
  • Good telephone manner and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Be able to resolve issues and willingness to challenge the status quo;
  • Manage their own workload and prioritise
  • Enjoy working in a small company environment.
