Our Client based in Stoke on Trent is looking for an Accounts Assistant/Purchase ledger Clerk to join their small and friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to work for a well-established company.
Main Duties Reporting to the Management Accountant the role includes but is not limited to:
Purchase Ledger Duties:
* Print off supplier invoices, processing & checking
* Send Invoices for authorisation
* Chase POD's and queries
* Posting Invoices to inhouse software, linking to Sage 50
* Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
* Generate, check and process payment run
Other Duties:
* Posting Subcontractor costs to in-house software on a weekly basis
* Petty cash - control and reconcile monthly
* Supplier payments as per agreed pay dates
* Ad hoc accounts duties
To cover Accounts Assistant during busy periods/absence:
* Subcontractor payments
* Bank reconciliations
* Assisting with credit control
The Successful Applicant Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of purchase ledger
* Knowledge of Sage50
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong IT skills - Excel & Word
* Excellent attention to detail
* Well organised with the ability to prioritise
* Excellent timekeeping and attendance
Available for an immediate start would be advantageous.
This role will be demanding at times, but also rewarding, with the potential for future development.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
