Accounts Administrator / Credit Controller

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Credit Controller to join their busy accounts team, based in Letchworth. The role offers the opportunity build on your current skills and gain valuable knowledge and experience, as such a willingness to learn with a drive to succeed and progress are a must. They are willing support AAT Qualification for the right individual.

Location: Letchworth, Herts SG6 1BL

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Salary: £22,000 to £24,000 p/a (dependant on experience)

Accounts Administrator / Credit Controller Duties:

  • Ensure all ledgers designated to you are constantly maintained, taking prompt action with overdue accounts and identifying any unallocated cash
  • Bring to the attention of line managers any customer accounts within your ledger which are out with their agreed credit terms.
  • Process new account applications in accordance with Company procedure, and create new accounts on Sales Ledger when authorised.
  • Collate and process the daily banking procedures for the designated dealerships and provide cover for other dealerships where necessary.
  • Post Sales Ledger receipts accurately in accordance with remittances where available.
  • Issue statements ensuring their accuracy prior to sending.
  • Chase overdue debts, following up on overdue accounts on a regular basis, issue stop lists, issue court proceedings when authorised to do so by line managers.
  • Issue sales ledger invoices as required.

Accounts Administrator / Credit Controller Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, although not essential
  • Excellent administration skills
  • A high level of accuracy with a keen eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Be well organised and self motivated
  • Computer literate including MS Office Packages
  • Punctual, with excellent time keeping
